School Introduction

I run hands-on, four-week residential cookery courses from my home in Somerset, near Bath.

My courses are designed as vocational training for people who want to cook for a living, most often on yachts in the Mediterranean or Caribbean, or as chalet chefs in the Alps - but anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills is welcome, though these are much more than beginners' courses.

Class sizes are very small - a maximum of five - which ensures a good deal of one-on-one cookery tuition. On a more personal level, I try to make you feel truly at home - you work hard but at the end of the day can relax in warmth and comfort, with all the benefits of a real home.

Fees for 2006 £2,700.00 inclusive of shared twin bedded accomodation, tuition, all materials, meals, laundry etc.

Faculty

Rosie Davies trained at Oxford for three years in Catering and Hotel Management. Her career has included working in restaurant kitchens, freelance cooking, catering for private parties and large functions, writing and editing, as well as teaching.

She has more than 20 years' practical teaching experience. She was head of cookery at Redlynch Park College, senior tutor at Cookery at the Grange, and has been running her own cookery classes for ten years.
