School Introduction

The Culinary Arts School of Ontario is Registered and Approved as a Private Career College under the Private Career College Act in the Province of Ontario.

Proudly training people from around the world through professional training in the culinary arts. Graduates of our chef school have become part of a great culinary tradition of excellence, with skills that set them apart from the competition in a demanding and ever-changing hospitality industry.

Located in Mississauga Ontario Canada, just West of Toronto and minutes from the communities of Brampton, Etobicoke, Oakville. Mississauga has become one of the fastest growing multicultural communities in Canada. This perfect multicultural environment draws students from all over the world. Here they will find a common bond in their love of fine food and passion in creating beautiful & delicious culinary art.

Mississauga hosts the Living Arts Centre and the Mississauga Arts Gallery each representing the interest of a community with a passion for the arts. At the Elliott House through the Culinary Arts School we continually work together to maintain and develop others who are looking for a professional learning and dining experience.

Facilities

We are co-located with the Elliott House Restaurant, and offer 2 professional kitchens. Student will oerate one of the 5 Private dining rooms as a student hosted venue.

Admission Requirements

Individuals who are seeking admission to The Culinary Arts School of Ontario – CHEF COLLEGE DEPARTMENT are required to complete or submit the following:

1. Admissions Interview (in person or over the phone) with an Admissions representative. The purpose of the interview is to:

o Explore the prospective student's background and interests as they relate to the programs offered at The Culinary Arts School of Ontario;

o Assist prospective students to identify the appropriate area of study consistent with their previous education, background, and stated or demonstrated interest in our program offerings;

o Provide information concerning curriculum offerings and support services available at The Culinary Arts School of Ontario.

2. The student must either have successfully completed high school (Grade 12 or GED 12) or is a mature student of not less than 19 years of age as of the start date of the program and has accurately represented their education, age and other required information to determine they meet the admission criteria to The Culinary Arts School of Ontario programs.

3. A separate Application Form and Enrolment Agreement must be completed and signed by the applicant, as well as parent or guardian (if applicant is a minor).

4. $100 registration fee will be required to hold seat in class selected. $250 for international applicants.

5. Applicants for the culinary programs must also provide proof of medical insurance valid for use in Ontario for the duration of their program of study.

6. Test scores. Complete The Culinary Arts School of Ontario assessment for admissions test. All students whose “first” language is not English are required to submit proof of their English competency corresponding to a mini mum score of 480 on the paper-based TOEFL exam or 157 on the computer-based TOEFL exam.

Although a visit to The Culinary Arts School of Ontario is not possible for submitting an application form and enrolment agreement for acceptance, prospective students are encouraged to schedule an interview with our admissions office to discuss special needs, long-term or short-term goals, and lifelong career aspirations.

Faculty

Our professional programs are lead by Chef Samuel Glass CEC (Certified Executive Chef) CCE (Certified Culinary Educator) CCA (Certified Culinary Administrator) a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation and the Escoffier Society of Ontario. Chef Glass's credentials are impeccable and currently he can boast to be one of the only Certified Culinary Educators in Ontario if not in all of Canada.
