School Introduction

The 1000 Hills Chefs School teaches the internationally recognized City & Guilds chefing courses. First year students study both the food preparation and culinary art course and the pastry course in the first year. First year students will graduate with a City & Guilds diploma in food preparation and culinary arts and a City & Guilds diploma in pastry. Students pursuing the second year course will study the City & Guilds advanced diploma in pastry. We are a recognized training provider with the South African Chefs Association.

The School only enrolls a select number of students each year and our aim is to turn out top quality junior chefs for Industry. Our School motto is ‘Attitude is Everything’ and this is the work ethos that we instill in our students which is one of the reasons why our students are highly sought after by top chefs in Industry.

School principal, Sharmaine Dixon, has twenty six years experience training chefs. School has limited accommodation available on the school grounds for students wanting to stay on the property

Residence fees are R1500.00 per month
School starts in late January and finishes early December
School only takes thirty students per year

Hot and cold kitchen, bakery, outside tea garden, 60 seater restaurant with big fireplace, deli and microbrewery.
