The Institute for Hospitality Education (SA) offers a Diploma in Professional Cookery on a one-year, part-time basis. Students are placed in a kitchen as fully fledged employees, earning a salary, to gain practical experience. The course is concise, cost effective, relevant and allows students access to local and international work opportunities. Students write the City & Guilds International Examinations at the end of the year; such qualifications are recognised in over 100 countries worldwide. We have a proven track record of success. Schedule & Fees We offer two intakes a year, the first course commences in January and the second commences in August. Fees are fully inclusive of lectures, practicals, text books, outings & demonstrations. Students do not have to purchase uniforms and kitchen equipment; there are no hidden costs. Fees change annually and are currently R20500 for the year. Facilities Administrative Office, Lecture venue for theory classes, Kitchen for demonstrations & practical cookery lessons Admission Requirements Students must have at least Grade 10, be proficient in English and have a passion for the industry. There are no specific requirements for students to attain a certain mark or to have taken a specific school subject. Faculty We have exceptionally well qualified lecturers with international experience. All lecturers are currently working in the industry, and bring relevant, current trends into the classroom.
