School Introduction

The Center for Kosher Culinary Arts was established in Fall, 2007 and offers recreational cooking classes, cookbook author demonstrations, master classes and workshops, and private parties and events, both on premises and off. There are classes for children and teens, as well.

Starting in July, 2008, a Professional Track will be added establishing it as the first KOSHER Professional Culinary Arts program in the US 9and only the second in the world). The 144 -hr. Professional program is a co-sponsored by Kingsborough Community College (of The City University of NY) and can earn the student college credits and necessary food safety certifications. Schedule & Fees

Hands-on workshops (including meal) are generally $70.
Master classes (4-5 hrs) are typically $100-$125.
Demonstration-tastings by cookbook authors are $50.

Admission Requirements

Recreational courses are open to the public. Professional training program requires interview by Director, Jesse Blonder. Admissions to Kingsborough Community College is via standard college admissions procedures.

Faculty

Faculty are trained Chefs, many also are faculty members at colleges.

Interships & Externships

Internships at Kosher restaurants in Brooklyn and New York City are being arranged.
