School Introduction

Infinity Culinary Training is a not-for-profit school located in Cape Town, South Africa. Co-directors Spencer Moyana and Barry Berman founded the school in order to help young South African men and women gain the basic skills necessary to secure employment in Cape Town's restaurants. 12 students are enrolled in each 12-week session; the program is intensive, rigorous and requires the students' complete dedication and commitment. Completion of the course provides students with prospects for job placements and hope for long-term, sustainable careers.

Schedule & Fees

Three session are scheduled for 2010:
January 11 - April 2
April 12 - July 2
September 13 - December 3

Tuition is R8,000 per session, plus R500 uniform and shoes fee.
Full or partial scholarships are available.

Facilities

Currently operating in an adjoining classroom and industrial kitchen in the Pinelands section of Cape Town.

Admission Requirements

Fluent in English; high school certificate

Faculty

Spencer Moyana, a South African chef.
Barry Berman, an American, self-taught cook.
Milan Bastos, 2009 graduate of the South African Chefs Academy

Interships & Externships

Each session includes a four-week externship in a Cape Town restaurant.
