School Introduction

The Pick n Pay School of Cooking is passionate about food and we love sharing our enthusiasm with our fellow Capetonians. Our classes provide that rare combination of having fun while learning something new. We cater for all ages and all levels of expertise. You don’t need to know a lot about cooking and baking and you don’t need to be serious about food. All you need is a desire to try something new.

The classes are taught by our team of professionally trained and experienced tutors and all ingredients and course materials are included in the fee.

Executive Survival Basic Course R2100
Our very popular eight-lesson course for anyone who wants to have fun and learn the basics of good cooking.

Domestic Assistants’ Basic Course R2100
Students learn measuring techniques, the principles of baking, the various cooking methods applied to vegetables, meat and fish and the general rules of the kitchen. They also learn to make a variety of dishes.

Domestic Assistants’ Workshops R350
These include subjects like Entertaining, Low Fat Cooking and Food for Kids. Domestic assistants will definitely be inspired by and benefit from these workshops. And so will you.

One-off Workshops R350
These one-off, hands-on workshops will inspire you to try something new. Lessons end with the feast you have prepared. Lessons include Italian, Morrocan, sushi, low fat vegetarian and more

Two Lesson Workshops R600
These hands-on workshops are designed to give you some bright, new ideas and boost your creativity in the kitchen.
